Sons Of This Sweet Soil - 20” x 24”
Sons Of This Sweet Soil
20” x 24” Oil on Canvas, Professionally Framed
“Sons Of This Sweet Soil” is inspired by two men standing within a sugar cane field, referencing a time when Trinidad’s landscape was deeply shaped by sugarcane plantations and the labor that sustained them. The figures represent strength, endurance, and a connection to the land that runs through generations.
It is my way of acknowledging the hands that worked the soil and the history that continues to live quietly within our communities.
Collector Considerations
Rooted in reflection on Trinidad & Tobago’s agricultural past and working communities
Reflects the resilience and dignity of men connected to the land
References a significant chapter of national history remembered by many families
Represents an original work that forms part of my evolving artistic journey
Holds a sense of heritage and continuity tied to the nation’s collective memory
