Caribbean Sensation

Born and raised in South-Central, Trinidad and Tobago, Yah Yah started her art journey with very humble beginnings. Initially buying into the notion that art was just a hobby. Growing up, she was not privilege to have the support from her community which caused her to pivot from an art career to focus on more academic pursuits. Over 7 years ago, she decided to fully embrace her passion, committing to a professional career, evolving as both a self-taught artist and a businesswoman. Living unapologetically within her divine purpose, free from the projections and expectations of society as she knew it.

Yah Yah’s process can be defined as a balance between structure & flow, allowing space for experimentation while still maintaining a clear intention or message. This balance gives her work both creative freedom and focus. Over the years, she handpicked a small team of brilliant, dedicated individuals who bring the same level of proficiency and enthusiasm to each project, supporting her vision. She’s particularly known for creating dozens of commissioned portraits for collectors both locally and internationally. In 2024, she participated in group exhibitions selling 95% of her original artwork at prominent galleries like Horizons Art Gallery, The Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago, The Tobago Art Gallery, and Studio Joli TT,

As a person who values community-building, she collaborated with the Ministry of Rural Development Company on murals that carry messages of strength, hope & resilience, uplifting residents nearby. In addition to that, she has conducted several workshops at various Secondary Schools in Trinidad as a way of giving back to the youths. Through her active presence on social media, she freely and willingly offer guidance and support to help other artisans refine their craft and express their individuality. She expressed that as she continues to embark on this profound journey of self-discovery and purpose. She’s determined to observe, study and address topics and that sparks a deeper level of awareness and revelation to the soul.

She aspires to travel & deepen the impact of her work, using it as a tool for awareness and transformation. Her mission is to simply continue living life at the highest possible frequency, contributing to a future where local artisans and creative entrepreneurs are not just surviving, but thriving—on their own terms.
