Under The Carat Shed
18” x 18” Oil on Canvas, Professionally Framed
“Under The Carat Shed” is inspired by the everyday rhythm of a fishing village, where men gather beneath the carat shed to talk, sort their catch, and sell mangoes and other goods. These shaded spaces often become meeting points, places where conversation flows easily and community life unfolds in its own steady time.
It is my way of honoring those familiar scenes of exchange, laughter, and livelihood that give village life its character.
Collector Considerations
Rooted in observation of daily life within coastal fishing communities
Reflects the social spaces where work and conversation naturally come together
Captures the informal marketplace traditions found in many villages
Represents an original work that forms part of my evolving artistic journey
Holds a sense of community and belonging shaped by shared routines
